Since Little Tiger has been working on learning her color words and bugs come in all sorts of colors I thought I would make her and Little Dragon a bug book that they could color and read together to add to our Catch a Bug Printable Math Activity. The words in the book are simple and repetitive to work on the sight words the, bug, and is but I also included a version with the names of the bugs—spider, bee, butterfly, ladybug, grasshopper and so forth. A couple of years ago, I created some color and read emergent readers that my son in Pre-K used. Because she knows several sight words already, these were a perfect fit. This pack not only includes emergent readers, but also early emergent readers, like the ones you can find in Learning the Alphabet.
They can also use the pages as coloring pages and color ice cream pictures to make the color statements true. Of course, at my house, people are sure that even winter is a perfect time for ice cream. They really do love their ice cream! This is perfect for preschool and kindergarten students, as well as some first or second grade students, depending on their reading needs. This free printable easy reader is perfect for kids in preschool and kindergarten and older, as needed. With younger children, you can read the booklet to them and then they can color in the ice cream cones with the appropriate colors. For children who are already reading, they can read the book either with help or independently.
